There are millions of people all over the world who have disabilities that prevent them from being part of society. They’re also one of the most marginalized groups of people who face many barriers in their daily lives. The way they live, the way they travel, and the way they go about their daily lives are vastly different from a regular person. More often than not disability is considered a negative thing and has a lot of stigma surrounding it.
At Disability Inclusive Development Programs And Services, we believe disability is something to be celebrated as a part of this world that can't be ignored. We want to be the voice of the people who are unable to stand up for themselves.Disability culture is celebrated worldwide on December 3rd with awareness campaigns and special ceremonies hosted by the World Health Organization.
But the range of differences among the disabled is vast and bunching it altogether ion a single culture and celebrating it one day of the year isn't fair. The DIDEPAS team celebrates disability culture everyday of the year by striving to improve the quality of life of children and women with disabilities. We want to eradicate the stigma surrounding disabilities that has been used to separate and isolate people with disabilities.
Our mission is to encourage and educate the general public about disability culture, empower differently-abled individuals by removing the barriers they face in all walks of life, and to create awareness of the needs and rights of these individuals.
